Job Title: Talent Manager (Pender County Focus)
Reports To: Program Director
Job Summary: The Talent Manager will work to expand StepUp Wilmington training to Pender County – focusing on increased participation and buy-in from candidates and employers. The TM will work to build strong, trusting relationships with referring partners, community resources, volunteer groups, faith organizations and employers.

while working with program staff to build and maintain strong relationships with talent and volunteers to guide talent through Job Readiness Training, Employment and into Step2.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and implement an expansion plan to bring StepUp Wilmington training to Pender County aligned with StepUp Wilmington’s strategic goal to place 350 jobs/year at with an acute focus on a living wage
- Establish and build relationships with participants instilling SUW values and developing high level of trust, leadership, open communication, and confidentiality
- Manage caseload of 20-30 job seekers through full cycle of job readiness; conduct 1x1 meetings, provide job leads, develop resumes, regular follow up calls and meetings to ensure participant is on track towards employment goals
- Develop and communicate a strong understanding of StepUp Wilmington’s results, processes and employer partners to effectively market services
- Forge relationships with referring partners (both inbound and outbound) ensuring a smooth transition process from the referring partner to StepUp Wilmington
- Ensure all trainings are in line with career readiness and organizational objectives
- Conduct outreach efforts on a consistent basis to increase participation in SUW programs, and StepUp awareness in the community
- Utilize technology and software platforms (Salesforce, Google Meet, ZOOM, Google Drive, and WorkDove) as tools in measuring results and growth ensuring accurate and up-to-date data
- Act as a team player and do what it takes to meet organizational goals, live up to SUW values and fulfill the SUW mission
- Take responsibility and “ownership” for making StepUp Wilmington great!
Job Requirements
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 year degree
- 2-5 years of experience in community outreach, recruitment or relevant field
- Proficient in Microsoft and Google applications and ability to learn new software (Salesforce a plus)
- Strong communication skills, verbally and written
- Ability to facilitate and lead groups of diverse backgrounds
- Experience working with diverse populations
- High level of empathy and passion
- Good sense of humor and ability to work well with a dynamic team
