Job Description
Position Summary
The Cook is responsible for the preparation of all food items as per
Essential Duties
1. Prepares all soups, stocks, sauces, boils; braises and roasts items as per standardized recipes.
2. Prepares and serves all sautéed, fried, grilled, steamed and baked items as per standardized
recipes.
3. Prepares or directs the preparation of all food served, following standard re
orders. Plans food production to coordinate with meal serving hours, so that excellence, quality,
temperature and appearance of food are preserved.
4. Determines amount and type of food and supplies required for daily menus and seeing that
supplies are obtained from storage areas in adequate time for meal production.
PT Line Cooks – Thursday-Saturday 2pm-Close

Other Duties
1. Follows proper food handling techniques and coordinates the use of time, material and
to void waste and unnecessary expense.
2. Maintains assigned workstation in a safe and sanitary condition.
3. Maintains acceptable standards of personal hygiene and complies with department dress code.
4. Attends in-service training and education session
5. Performs specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
6. Maintains a clean, orderly, safe and secure work area at all times and follows all established safety
and quality control procedures.
7. Ensure strict confidentiality of all records.
8. Performs other functions as needed or required.
9. Ability to proficiently read and write English as an essential function of the job.
Qualifications
Ability to understand and follow instructions in English, communicate effectively, and perform simple
arithmetic. Ability to understand measurements and conversions. Experience as a cook in a hotel,
restaurant, club or similar institution. Ability to interpret standardized recipes, instructions,
specifications and standards. Knowledge of nutrition and diet. Knowledge of kitchen equipment
operations and maintenance.
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions
Exposure to heat, moisture, odors, changes in temperature, in/out walk-in freezer and refrigerators.
Requires light physical effort involving the lifting of weight up to 25 pounds. Continuous standing,
stooping, walking, carrying, bending, pulling, and pushing, etc.
