Job Description
Perform general maintenance and special projects by painting, plumbing, repairing walls, and office furniture, replacing glass and windows, assisting other departments, and repairing reports.
Work requires the ability to utilize electronic work order systems and tablets in the field for the completion of your daily duties.
This position requires specialized Locksmith skills in the installation, maintenance, and repair of commercial interior and exterior doors, security systems, knowledge of fire panel operations and locksmith services. Ability to cut/copy keys, re pin locks and add keys to master keying system is a must.
Job Requirements
High School Diploma or GED, plus advanced training or study beyond high school that demonstrates proficiency in essential job functions.
Minimum one (1) year of building and/or facilities maintenance experience. Ability to perform journeyman level repair for electrical, HVAC, carpentry, plumbing, and other mechanical systems with minimum supervision.
Vaild drivers License. Work will be considered an essential employee to the operations of the City of Wilmington to perform work before, during, and after inclement weather or other emergencies.
Knowledge of the methods, practices, and equipment used in building maintenance services and activities included in a variety of building work.
Ability to use computers to process work orders.
Ability to identify building maintenance issues and take corrective actions.
Knowledge of occupational hazards and necessary precautions applicable and mechanical maintenance.
